Assum preto

Assum Preto è dedicato ai gemelli brasiliani Otavio e Gustavo Pandolfo noti come Os Gemeos. Raccoglie i lavori su tela e le installazioni realizzate in occasione della loro prima mostra personale in Italia presso la Galleria Patricia Armocida di Milano. L´amore per il disegno, l´attenzione ai dettagli e l´assoluta padronanza del colore, sono alcuni degli elementi che contraddistinguono il lavoro di questi artisti, profondamente influenzati dalla cultura popolare brasiliana, dal contesto urbano e dal loro personalissimo immaginario. Il libro d'arte Assum Preto è composto da pagine a colori di diversa grammatura, una copertina rigida in tela nera con un ricamo a quattro colori e un´inedita serigrafia contenuta all’interno realizzata da Os Gemeos per l’occasione. Rappresenta un prezioso oggetto in cui sono raccolti gli interventi del duo attivo a San Paolo dalla fine degli anni ottanta.

Assum Preto is devoted to the Brazilian twins Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo, known as Os Gemeos. It illustrates the canvases and installations created for their first solo show in Italy at the Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan. A love for drawing, attention to detail and extraordinary mastery of colour are just some of the elements that distinguish the work of these artists, who have been profoundly influenced by popular Brazilian culture, the urban setting and their highly personal imagination. The Assum Preto art book is composed of colour pages with different grammages, a stiff cover in black canvas with four-colour embroidery and, inside, a previously unpublished serigraph created by Os Gemeos for the occasion. It represents a precious object containing the works of this duo, which has been active in São Paulo since the late 1980s.

Serioquattro

Serioquattro è un libro d’artista realizzato da tre diversi autori - Simone Casati, Simone Facchinetti e Marinella Tasca - che hanno interpretato l’idea di libro secondo le loro diverse appartenenze artistiche: quella del writing e della fotografia, quella della grafica e illustrazione, e in ultimo quella della moda. L’edizione è completamente artigianale, presentata in 100 esemplari in cui ogni copia è unica nella realizzazione, nella piegatura e nella colorazione. Il libro contiene tre poster di 100 x 140 centimetri ideati da ciascuno dei tre autori e personalizzati con interventi post-stampa; un poster aggiuntivo di 70 x 100 centimetri accompagnato a dieci cartoline di Simone Facchinetti, relative alle mostra Ilsimosuperstar Vs Michael Jackson, Ogni poster presenta un intervento manuale, fino ad una cucitura colorata di alcune sue parti che invita il lettore a strappare il filo e i bottoni lasciando che la carta conservi le loro trame.

Serioquattro is an art book created by three different authors – Simone Casati, Simone Facchinetti and Marinella Tasca – who have interpreted the book idea according to their different artistic approaches: writing and photography, graphics and illustration, and fashion. The publication is completely artisanal and there are only 100 copies, each of which is unique in its production, folding and coloration. The book contains three posters (100 x 140 cm) created by each of the three artists and customised with post-printing work. Ten postcards created by Simone Facchinetti for the Ilsimosuperstar Vs Michael Jackson exhibition accompany another poster (70x100 cm). Each poster features handwork, with coloured stitching of certain parts: the reader is asked to tear off the thread and buttons, leaving their pattern on the paper.

¿Esta Bien?

Con una formula originale, fra booklet musicale e colorato pieghevole, ¿ESTA BIEN? racconta l´indagine svolta dalla giornalista Elena Catalfamo fra le strade di Potosí in Bolivia dove ha raccolto storie e nomi, immagini e parole seguendo i ragazzi dei Nats (Ninos y adolescentes trabajadores). La pubblicazione - realizzata in occasione dell´omonima mostra dedicata a un progetto artistico e culturale nato fra l´Italia e la Bolivia, organizzato da CELIM Bergamo (http://www.celimbergamo.it/) - raccoglie sedici brevi storie che descrivono la società di Potosí e i suoi luoghi di lavoro a cui si intrecciano le storie di vita quotidiana e i testi scritti dai ragazzi che in prima persona raccontano la loro vita e i loro sogni, come vivono e che cosa pensano del lavoro minorile.

Using an original formula that is a cross between a musical booklet and a colourful brochure, ¿ESTA BIEN? describes journalist Elena Catalfamo´s investigative reporting in the streets of Potosí, Bolivia, where she collected stories and names, images and words by following the young people from Nats (Ninos y adolescentes trabajadores). The publication - released for the exhibition by the same name devoted to an artistic and cultural project set up between Italy and Bolivia, organized by CELIM Bergamo (http://www.celimbergamo.it/) - unites sixteen short stories that describe Potosí´s society and workplaces. They are interwoven with stories of everyday life and texts written by young people who provide a first-hand account of their lives and dreams, how they live and what they think of child labour.

Quei Bravi ragazzi rappresenta un inedito DVD-catalogo realizzato in occasione dell´omonima mostra collettiva presso la AMTgallery di Como. Il DVD contiene le opere video e le photo gallery dei sette artisti presenti in mostra: Blu, Riccardo Benassi, Dado & Stefy, Federico Maddalozzo, Massimiliano Nazzi e Giovanna Ricotta. Dal menu principale è possibile accedere ai lavori dei diversi autori, e al testo critico, attraverso un percorso video ideato dalla curatrice della mostra Fabiola Naldi. Il DVD contiene i video di Blu, fra cui Child, All two-hands acts are stereo di Riccardo Benassi, autore della traccia audio Krematorium Wedding, tre video di Massimiliano Nazzi, fra cui A chance to clik is a chance to clack, e infine Kiss e bamboolychee´s della performer Giovanna Ricotta. Ogni artista è presente con una ricca photo gallery nella quale è possibile vedere i lavori di Dado & Stefy, dal 1999 ai lavori di Installazione illegale, le immagini delle serie Colormap, Pantone e Maybe di Federico Maddalozzo, gli interventi di Blu degli ultimi tre anni, da Bologna a Saragozza fino al Magunica tour in Sud America. Il booktrailer BANG è stato realizzato da Gabriele Rigamonti (_riga) che ha reinterpretato il concept della mostra e la specificità del gruppo di artisti raccolto.

Quei bravi ragazzi is an unusual DVD catalogue created for the eponymous collective exhibition at the AMTgallery in Como. The DVD contains video works and photo galleries of the seven artists who participated in the exhibition: Blu, Riccardo Benassi, Dado & Stefy, Federico Maddalozzo, Massimiliano Nazzi and Giovanna Ricotta. The artists’ works and a critical essay can be accessed from the main menu through a video itinerary designed by Fabiola Naldi, who curated the exhibition. The DVD contains Blu’s videos, including Child; All two-hands acts are stereo by Riccardo Benassi, who also created the audio track titled Krematorium Wedding; three videos by Massimiliano Nazzi, including A chance to clik is a chance to clack; and Kiss and bamboolychee´s by Giovanna Ricotta. Each artist is represented by a rich photo gallery that showcases the works of Dado & Stefy, from those of 1999 to Installazione illegale; the images from the Colormap, Pantone and Maybe series by Federico Maddalozzo; and Blu’s works from the past three years, from Bologna a Zaragoza to the Magunica tour in South America. The BANG book trailer was made by Gabriele Rigamonti (_riga), who reinterpreted the exhibition concept and specificity of the featured group of artists.
